As Alpha- One awareness month, November brought lots of excitement. The 13th Annual Day in Respirology with UofT got the ball rolling on the 8th. This year’s up featured notable speakers in the field. The day was filled with insights on the developments in the field and how to address major challenges as we move forward in research and patient care. One standout was Dr. Kenneth Chapman of Inspiration Research. Dr. Chapman specifically spoke to the latest diagnostic and treatment options for patients with difficult-to-control asthma.
No rest for the weary with the CNRC Conference in Montreal on November 14th – 16th.
As the CNRC President Dr. Chapman was eager to welcome the nation’s experts to a weekend of knowledge exchange and advancement. With distinguished speakers and compelling calls to action, the weekend was a flurry of activity.
Dr. Chapman spoke to Alpha-1 Antitrypsin Deficiency: What the Respiratory Educator Keeds to Know and presenting in the conference symposium on Beyond the Prescription: A Patient’s Journey to Better Asthma Control.
World COPD on the 20th, helped to raise awareness, support, and funds for research and treatment. With more than 65 million people around the world living with moderate or severe COPD, it was a good day for many to engage and learn more.
December had its own excitement, in the midst of the holiday season on the 17th Dr. Ken Champham, Jane Duke, and Shinead’s Callery participated in the Alpha 1 Canada live stream question and answer session. Watch the recording from that session here.
